ABOUT

The Clarions are a great example of how to turn pain into something beautiful [...] They are one of the most important bands in the North East at the moment, but you have to see them live to understand what I’m talking about”  - Martin Metcalfe, from The Filthy Tongues, & Goodbye Mr Mackenzie

"Rousing from the outset..." - NARC Magazine

"Their sense of drive and purpose is palpable - let them into your life"  - The Crack

"If you've ever thought there was a lack of female talent and musicians in the North East then look no further than this band" - NE Volume

"...mesmerising. Claire's voice has a haunting quality that kept me captivated completely" - Dave Corcoran, North East promoter

The Clarions are Claire Delamore, Scott Gartshore, and Adam Clarke, who got together in early 2016. Michael Kelly joined the band in Summer 2018 as rhythm guitarist. Since their demo EP of 2016, the band have developed their own sound, tying together the influences of each band member, which include Patti Smith, Galaxie 500, Nick Cave and Pink Floyd.

They have played at local festivals, such as Redcar Rocks, Oxjam, and the Primavera Festival at Tynemouth Surf Café, an independent music venue voted the best in the North East. Both tracks from their last single have been played on BBC Introducing North East on Radio Newcastle, as well as Spark FM, EGH Radio, Blast FM in the US and SubCity Radio in Glasgow. NARC magazine chose ‘Something Different’ as February 2018’s Demo of the Month, calling it a ‘stirring outsider anthem’ with Claire’s vocal performance described as ‘terrifically expressive’ and ‘multifaceted’. The band have shared the stage with The Filthy Tongues (previously known as Angelfish and Goodbye Mr Mackenzie), Stevie Parker, Mik Artistik's Ego Trip and Chris Wise & The Hidden Revolution.
